5 Mentimeter alternatives for live audiences

Mentimeter made interactive slides mainstream, and it's still one of the best tools for turning a slide into a poll, a live word cloud, or a quiz. But it's built around the presentation. If your event is more of a conversation, with talks, Q&A, and a room full of reactions, a different tool may serve you better. The full table is EVOCA vs Mentimeter.

We make EVOCA, so it's first on the list, but each entry notes who it's genuinely best for.

1. 1

   EVOCA

Best for: Live reactions and Q&A at conferences

If your priority is a lively room rather than slide polls, quizzes, and word clouds, EVOCA leans into real-time emoji reactions and upvoted Q&A. EVOCA does not include live polls. It's free up to 100 attendees per event, then €49 once for a 7-day window with unlimited attendees, or €29/month. The feature-by-feature table is the EVOCA vs Mentimeter comparison.

2. 2

   Slido

Best for: Mature Q&A with enterprise integrations

Slido is the incumbent for live Q&A, with deep integrations into presentation and video tools. It's a safe enterprise choice; see our EVOCA vs Slido comparison for the trade-offs.

3. 3

   AhaSlides

   Best for: Affordable interactive slides

AhaSlides is often chosen as a lower-cost, Mentimeter-style tool for quizzes embedded in slides. Free plans cap participants, so confirm the current limit against your audience size.

4. 4

   Kahoot!

   Best for: Gamified quizzes

If your goal is energy and competition rather than a polished slide deck, Kahoot!'s game format is hard to beat. It's less suited to open-ended Q&A or ongoing engagement across a full event.

5. 5

   Wooclap

Best for: Classrooms and blended learning

Wooclap targets education with quizzes and LMS integrations, and is a natural Mentimeter substitute for teaching. Some engagement features require a paid plan.
